HAHAHAHAHA!!! AWESOME!!! You should check out AlexVegas’ “Muslamic Rayguns” tune, I liked it so much that I asked his permission to use it for my own videographic ‘evidence’ of the existence of those terrifying weapons… X-D

@luccaskunk intresting, im currently studying biomedicine and psychology as part of my anthropology course
Azadari4Evaa 08:21 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@luccaskunk yep you are right, there are many limitations to cultural relativism, but also some good points as well in the sense that you can see a culture for the persons own point of view- but yes in regards to FGM (which i have studied in depth) it is a horrific practice and unfortunately it acceptable in many cultures, predominately within African countries. Im from Africa and i understand why people practice it, but i personally dont agree with it and have debated many people that do.

That guy was talking about “rape gangs”, which are a serious problem in northern English cities.

@Azadari4Evaa The only things I really hold a degree in is a masters in programming and an associates degree in psychology and biology. All of them regionally accredited degrees. Still, yeah, I don’t consider myself an expert on anything. I always defer to those I recognize as possessing superior knowledge on a topic. Even if deferring to them means having to rethink my previous positions on a topic.
luccaskunk 09:35 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@Azadari4Evaa I’m not very fond of relativism myself. Though it’s not relativism per se that I dislike. It’s how people use it to justify things like female genital mutilation and other such things.
I am as much an anthropologist as I am just about anything else, I guess. I like to think of myself as being a modern day renaissance person. I study the heck out of everything under the sun that interests me. But I hold almost no degrees in any of it and don’t consider myself an expert on anything.
Azadari4Evaa 09:47 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@luccaskunk you should be an anthropologist, i reckon you would make a good one, (im saying this because im studying to be an anthropologist, and we study cultures and its richness and diversity, its called relativism) =]

@Azadari4Evaa also 7/7 happened in a muslim populated area called ‘Edgware Road’ so they attacked muslims as well as non-muslims, infact the day after 7/7 a few cousins and myself went to the hospitals where the victims were and gave them all flowers and were in tears ourselves, and when 9/11 happened i remember watching it on the news and all of us were crying and really angry that it happened, it felt so surreal, everyone suffered as a result, even muslims

@luccaskunk Kofi Anan quoted Imam Ali saying “Let the dearest of your treasuries be the treasury of righteous action… Infuse your heart with mercy, love and kindness for your subjects. Be not in the face of them a voracious animal, counting them as easy prey, for they are of two kinds: either they are your brothers in religion or your equals in creation.”
Azadari4Evaa 11:13 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@luccaskunk my thoughts and feelings exactly, the cousin of the Prophet Imam Ali (who was raised by the Prophet) and Kofi Anan (the general secretary of the United Nations) gave a speech on the declaration of human rights 50th anniversary

@Azadari4Evaa I just want to see people stop fighting. We’re all human beings and we should be good to one another. Diversity makes the world interesting. I honestly think that if everyone believed the same thing that the world would be boring. Diversity drives art and art drives the human spirit. Without diversity, the human spirit will die.
luccaskunk 12:15 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@Azadari4Evaa Alright. I believe you. I firmly believe that everyone does what they feel is the right thing to do. But someone who believes in the things about Islam that I’ve seen that I detest could not have argued from the point of view you just argued from with the kind of passion you argued it with. That makes two that have convinced me that there may be hope after all.
Azadari4Evaa 12:42 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@luccaskunk im not askin you to trust me or anything, and if u want to keep me at arms length its fine by me. I personally have nothin against you because i dont even know you, and it would be wrong of me to judge you, but i like the fact that we can have a healthy debate without name callin and swearin (which i detest), and so u know, anyone can lie and use something to justify ther actions, it doesnt mean that they’re right, and whether thy do it in the guise of religion or not-its still wrong
Azadari4Evaa 13:01 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@luccaskunk again, those who use it to further their own agendas to force other people into submitting to something they dont want to is wrong. Islam isnt the problem, its muslims who weild it as a weapon and dont know anything about it, they manipulate sayings and verses to suit their agendas and dont do their research because they believe the words that come out of any man sitting on the pulpit. This is a minority who ruin it for a majority, these extremists are the wahabis and salafis
Azadari4Evaa 13:46 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@luccaskunk thats why Islam constantly tells muslims to research and know about their religion and other religions, so that we do not misuse or manipulate its meanings, and this is where the muslims have gone wrong, the lack of research.
luccaskunk 14:19 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@Azadari4Evaa However, I’m sorry, but while I’m fairly confident that you’re an ok person, I’d still want to keep you no closer than arm’s length because of all the ways in which things such as Taqiyya can be abused and because of the fact that it’s very easy to simply take the violent stuff later in the book to override the earlier, peaceful stuff. That and what it says to do to people like me who vehemently oppose being introduced to any kind of faith at all.
luccaskunk 14:50 on 19.06.2011 Permalink
@Azadari4Evaa Pretty words, however, I’ve seen instances where Taqiyya has been abused to conceal the less agreeable portions of the faith to push the ultimately violent or oppressive agenda of extremism such as replacing the existing US Government with pure Shariah Law in America.
